i actually cant believe my eyes. Iran's interference in the region ??? I forgot it's only America who has a right to interfere in the middle east. God forbid that anyone else may have a say on the regions development.

Well when you talk about the inept wannabe power that is Britain and Saudi Arabia, then i think Cuba, Venezuela and Syria are worth a mention.

As for Russia and China just opposing whatever the US does, that is patently false. Have you not seen that Russia and China have been working closely with the US on North Korea ?

The three scenarios I can think of are these.
1. Republican strategists calculate that McCain needs a boost to get elected. The next step would be some type of Gulf of Tonkin staged attack against American troops allegedly involving Iranian regular army troops (our black ops guys in Iranian uniforms). McCain comes to the rescue and becomes the hero of the day. He is then swept into office.
2. After the elections and before Bush is due to leave office, Bush and Cheney have nothing to lose - so why not? It would commit a new president (even Obama) in yet another neo con quagmire. My bet would be also be a staged incident.
3. Israel conducts airstrikes on Iran, the Shia Muslims unite against Israel and we are drawn into the conflict on Israel's side.

In all three scenarios, the people bearing the brunt of attacks would be the Iranian people and our troops as the nearest targets for payback.

Ouch. That's just evil. Then again, our politicians are getting more arrogant and untouchable, and the people seem less inclined to stay mad for more than a week. This Administration can literally get away with anything, and they know it. Toss a few fall guys like Scooter to the wolves, and nobody important or responsible is really accountable.
