Iran is no threat to us, nor should we urge them to become so. The Middle East largely wants to be left alone, and I am happy to oblige them. Buy the oil from whoever has the best price and refocus on our long-neglected domestic agenda.

We shouldn't let our pride and ideology trump reason and practicality.

Are you suggesting that we abandon the agreement that we made at the end of WW2?

I think it perhaps needs reevaluation. Sixty years is a long time, and a lot has changed.

Clearly our support of Israel makes us suspicious and biased in our dealings with the Arab World. I question, given the powder keg the ME tends to be, just how much in our best interest continual interfering is.

Responsible parents let go of the hand, and allow the baby to walk independently at some point.

I didn't make that agreement. Nor did most people who are alive right now. Just because some people in the past made an agreement is no reason that the rest of the future generations should have to honor it.

Actually, the Middle East has been a powder keg since Mohamed wrote the Koran. Arabs still want to kill Jews and expand into Europe. Not much has changed in 1300 years, never mind 60. Heck, there are still people alive who fought for the Jew’s right to exist.

But even when they are all dead The Southern Man, or his offspring, will never forget their gallant efforts.

M'kay. Noble and stirring, indeed, but do it on your own dime.

Plunking a Jewish state into the midst of such ancestral, implacable enemies, onto land that hadn't been theirs for centuries doesn't seem particularly wise, as subsequent events clearly prove.

I have absolutely nothing against Jews at all, understand, but I think they need to stand on their own.

Would we be happy if North Korea annexed Quebec?
