You know those Cheney energy meetings that still don't have anything revealed about them? The only thing I can think of that would be so sensitive that we still don't even know who was there, is discussing the war plans and dividing up the spoils. Enron is not that big a deal. But if Cheney was already laying out the war plans well before 9/11, then that is a big deal. I don't mean just speculating about a future war, but already pushing the war as a decision already made. Maybe I'm wrong, but I would bet at least even money that this is so.
From the same people who claimed the 9/11 conspiracy no doubt.

You don't think Cheney and the neo-cons were already planning for war and dividing up the spoils in advance? Why not? Perhaps you think they were too honest? or too patriotic? or not smart enough? Why would you dismiss this out of hand?...because you trust your government too much to think they would behave like that?

I think you are simply rallying with the anti-Bush administration mob--because its fun to pretend that youre being exploited and youre part of the group all rallying against a common "tyrant" and the spread of the New World Order. Because people like to point fingers and blame people, offering no alternatives and backing their statements with no evidence. Thats what all of this is about. I doubt most people even really care about what they complain about, they probably just like to feel part of the crowd. Its a conversation starter right?

But Ill tell you one thing Ive learned from this whole thing, and that is to give people the benefit of the doubt and to not actively pursue aggressive attacks on people or politicians of any party. Because there are those that lie and cheat, but theyre the ones you would never expect most of the time. Bush and Cheney dont have the best public image when speaking, and theyve racked up their fair share of hatred--but I dont beleive they are corrupt.

You can beleive all that you want, but there is no New World Order conspiring to make cash and ruin America and make themselves kings. Its rumors and conspiracy talk started by radicals. Thats why I used to cringe every time my grandmother talked to me about politics--it was always the "liberal world takeover" and how America was going to be ruined by them. I dont beleive that at all, there's a healthy balance, and no ones out to ruin the country except maybe bin Laden and some other haters overseas.

So thats why I dont like people always coming up with personal attacks on people and politicians--of any side. Im willing to judge people individually based off of what I see in their actions, in their character and personality, and in their beleifs. Political debates today are all about defacing the legitamacy of the opponent, and I dont like that at all. We saw enough of that with the Clinton-Obama campaign.

So I dont dismiss the fact that Cheney and the "neo-cons" might have had alterior motives and planned some elaborate conspiracy...it seems ridiculous, but I know there's always two sides to a story. I know that for everything you hear in a rumor, 25% isnt true, and 25% of the story is missing. From what Ive seen of them, they arent the kind of people that tabloids want to make them.

So has anyone here read all or part of the "Plan for a New American Century"? It was published as the manifesto of Cheney's neo con think tank in 1998. The concept here is that America is to become the new Roman Empire. Just as there was "Pax Romana" there is now to be "Pax Americano" - meaning like the Romans we use pre emptive military strikes as we pacify and stabilize the world.

Many of the PNAC group were hired directly into the Bush administration, including Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, and Feith. The excellent documentary "Why We Fight" shows video footage of Wolfowitz lecturing a large group in a cabinet meeting about Iraq. He was part of a Israeli agenda faction within the neo cons, and with absolutely NO military experience was telling others how easy an invasion and deposing Saddam would be.

I hold this group of neo cons directly responsible for our Iraq quagmire. And that starts at the top with Dick Cheney and Rumsfeld. We need to have a formal ceremony where we can make them eat their previous words, such as it would be a "cakewalk," it would only take a "couple of months," that Iraqis would "throw flowers at our feet," that "Iraq oil revenues would pay for the invasion and reconstruction."

Yes, they must bear a large part of the blame for our quagmire, and the neo cons need to get purged from government.
