I'm aware that Luis Posada Carriles is a terrorist who was released on bail last week. The explanation given in an article I read that day was that he was only being detained for lying on an immigration form, yet I feel it was a miscarriage of justice to release him and not charge him with his acts of terrorism.

As far as the Cubana crash, I was not aware of that but I can't remember everything that was in the news in 1976. It's not because I condone the hypocrisy of a country that purports to be fighting a war on terror while letting a known terrorist go free; but because it happened over 30 years ago and didn't have the impact on the American psyche that other events such as the Challenger explosion or 9/11 did.

But the reason people should know is because it should have been in the news recently - like when his immigration charges were made.The media is lying by omission. They ought to tell a little about the man when they cover the story, but they don't want you to know about the man or else the whole illusion of America representing all that is good in the world is shattered.

It's not baiting imo. By logical deduction they only reasons those who saw the thread didn't reply are they value the lifes of cubans less than Americans, they no nothing about the iincident (until now), they were ashamed and didn't want their hypocrisy exposed (those who call for a war on terror) and well i'm running out of other possible reasons. If ISyria for instance was protecting a terrorist who done this to US citizens or friends of the US you can be sure there would be post after post of condemnation, but since it is only Cuba and it is America doing the protecting they really don't give a damn.

The article I read did list his acts of terrorism but I didn't remember what they were specifically since I just scanned it. (I read a lot so often just scan to get the gist of an article.)

It IS baiting IMO.

I'll give you another good reason: maybe this thread just didn't interest them. Not everyone reads every thread, and not everyone posts in every thread that they do read. But when I read this thread and saw that bit about Americans being ashamed and embarrassed just because we didn't happen to post in your thread, and realized that you were assuming the worst of us, I felt compelled to respond.

Well that i did kind of cover. I gave the example of if it was Americans or their friends like UK and Israel who had been hurt by this terror and Syria protected the culprits - this would be one of the hottest topics his board had ever known, but since it's only Cubans they don't give a damn. That is not a criticism of Americans it is a criticism of the Americans who read this and had nothing to say. Just imagine planners of 9/11 being protected by Syria or Iran - certain people on here wouldn't shut up about it, they would want those countries bombed back to the stone age. But where are they when it concerns Cuban, Guyanese and Korean life ? Where are they when it is their country that protects mass murdering terrorists ? Their silence is deafening.
