Another interesting question is what do you mean when you tell some one Merry CHRISTmas. Afterall, we seem to have lost the true meaning.

From a UK perspective...

Just a few years ago, Birmingham (Not Alabama!) city council decided in their infinite wisdom to ban the use of "Merry Christmas" and instead decided to call it "Winterval". (It's true!) The reason being as not to offend the ethnic minorities.

And this is the best bit... Even the ethnic minorities, Muslims, Jews, Jedi Knights, whatever thought that it was a crazy idea so a year later, normality was restored. There was a major fuss about renaming a Christian tradition to appease the minorities who basically couldn't have give a damn.

A few miles from where I live, there is a large Asian population and yet I've seen them myself with CHRISTMAS decorations outside of their homes so what is the problem? I'll tell you what the problem is...

Too much political correctness which has in my opinion gone totally mad. I hate to say this but sometimes I feel ashamed to be British when the loopy lunatics have now finally taken over the asylum.

In UK history, Oliver Cromwell took it to hand to ban Christmas and all the festivities that go with it, guess what? There were riots in the streets. But one antiquated law, although not effective still remains from that era and that being that it is illegal to eat mince pies on Christmas Day.

Ooops! I should get a life sentence several times over then. :D

Phil.

It is not "politically correct" to say Merry Christmas, but it is legal to burn the American flag.

When they unite Canada, USA and Mexico into one country (the North American Union) then the US Constitution will become a useless piese of paper.

North American Union to Replace USA?

This is a conspiracy theory that has had quite a bit of longevity. This has been around for about twenty years now. It is as credible as most crackpot conspiracy theories. Some people just love these things and keep repeating them over and over regardless of any factual basis.

For your information, both Mexico and Canada would rather go to war than become part of the USA - something your little conspiracy theory seems to ignore.

As an outsider sitting over 3,000 miles away. Are you sure about Mexico and bear in mind the Southern border controls which seem to be lacking.

Personally if illegal and made over the border I'd shoot on sight. I wish the UK would but then internal inquiry, no one gets jailed if accused for pumping 7 bullets and turns illegal, (Our 7/7) or maybe legal immigrant Brazillian head into Swiss cheese... Bleh bleh!

But ok to lose 8 CD's with 25 million peoples confidential data and no-one gets so much as a spanking.

And this is the best bit!

Polish immigrants. Bad enough. Now x6 effective under EU constitution as from today. They can go **** off!! The UK is overloaded already!

Last person who leaves England... Please turn out the light!

your right it goes to the government whe someone gets offended enough to take it to the courts and try and get an ungodly amount of money from them for hurting the persons feelings.

wow i didn't know someone had actually tried to ban a holiday. thats just stupid what the hell did they think was going to happen. i say merry christmas because that is what it is and no matter what you want to call it. it is still going to be christmas. just because we call it something else doesn't mean Christ wasn't born. it Christmas and anyone that says otherwise can just get over themself.

ya i am completely with you. and it is starting to effect laws that have been put in place kind of hush hushly so that the majority of people don't realize it. like the US's hate speech laws. A paster cant talk about Homosexuality in a sermon because it is considered hate speech. what hell is that about. i hate political correctness. all is does is apease the little group and make the big group really angry. it stupid.

In case you are curious, British economy has been one of the best performing economies in Europe (not the best though) over the last ten years. One of the elements of the British economy that has enabled them to do this is labor mobility and the large influx of skilled immigrants (mostly from Poland).

Xenophobia will only make the uneducated yobs even more unemployable and will ultimately reduce the ability of the state to pay the welfare tabs for so many useless and uneducated white trash. You need lots of skilled Polish immigrants to work and pay the taxes to pay for all the welfare going to the uneducated white trash that just whines about the Poles coming in.

here in the US there is a way to become a citizen i am sure they can do that there to. for me i would say that you should make it a little easyer to become a citizen but don't just give it to them. and if they don't want to become a citizen then send them back where they came from. oh and merry christmas.
