Default Dobson accuses Obama of 'distorting' Bible

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - As Barack Obama broadens his outreach to evangelical voters, one of the movement's biggest names, James Dobson, accuses the likely Democratic presidential nominee of distorting the Bible and pushing a "fruitcake interpretation" of the Constitution.
The criticism, to be aired Tuesday on Dobson's Focus on the Family radio program, comes shortly after an Obama aide suggested a meeting at the organization's headquarters here, said Tom Minnery, senior vice president for government and public policy at Focus on the Family.

Considering that Dobson is a major figure within the dominion theology/Christian Reconstructionism camps, I'm going to side with Obama on this one, even if I don't necessarily agree with what Obama says.

"I'm a panda," he says at the door. "Look it up."

The waiter turns to the relevant entry and, sure enough, finds an explanation.

"Panda. Large black-and-white bear-like mammal, native to China. Eats, shoots and leaves."

This was the guy that had issues with the childrens' cartoon series "Spongebob and Mr Square Pants" as promoting homosexuality. It is ironic to see his quote about Obama being a fruitcake.

He didn't say Obama was a fruitcake, he said Obama's interpretation of the Constitution was fruitcake. Note: "He said Obama, who supports abortion rights, is trying to govern by the 'lowest common denominator of morality,' labeling it 'a fruitcake interpretation of the Constitution.'"

If you haven't yet seen the speech he is referring to you should. It was good, I know I am biased but Obama did well disusing the logic behind leaving morality out of the government.

I saw this.

It made me laugh.

I used to work with someone who had this bumper sticker on her car: FOCUS ON YOUR OWN DAMNED FAMILY. It was a good bumper sticker.

People like Dobson need to mind their own business. I couldn't care less what Dobson says about Obama or anything else for that matter.

I used to listen to Focus on the Family on my drive back from school, for shts and giggles.

My favourite was them lighting into the ACLU, ignoring all the times that the ACLU has defended religious freedoms.

the truth is the ACLU is usually right about constitution so the right wing and some of the left demonize them so they don't have to win the argument.

You mean "Spongebob Squarepants," Mike.

Greatest show to watch while baked.
