Because America needs a boogeyman, now that the USSR is over, and Islam is it.

Because we have to believe every single Muslim is a violent nutjob, out to kill us all, or the whole reason for about half of our military and govt expenditures become pointless.

Because the Administration needs to keep us distracted and in a constant state of terror, so they can do what they really want to do, in the name of our safety.

Obviously he is taking a leaf out of the Islamic fundamentalist's book. Muslim extremists have been calling for the death of unbelievers, not just Jews, on a much grander scale for many years. Most of their vile rhetoric does not make headlines either, just secondary stories.

Perhaps one day both the Israelis and their enemies will be successful in wiping each other out.
