I don't know about that. I've recently become very interested in that time period of European history, and the more I read, the more I realize that the Dark Ages weren't quite as morosely pathetic and unsophisticated as people think.

History's always difficult, because we are looking back with modern biases, but there's been a great resurgence of interest in seeing the "barbarians" with new eyes. Much of what we used to "know" about them came from the victims' writings, like the monks getting raided by Vikings at Lindisfarne and Jarrow.

Christians tend to denigrate anything pagan or not Christian as worthless or inferior, and I don't think that's the case. The opinion of history seems to be changing.

I guess you just dazzled us with your "knowledge" of history. Of course the Europeans were living in relative squalor from around 500 to 1200 AD. Saying anything else is ignoring history completely.
Since my post was deleted. You need to flex what little brain power you have and go back and read what I wrote, and the still unsupported claims of Lev.

These ignorant comments you post only make your position laughable.

Note that I was replying to your completely irrelevant (not to mention asinine) posting.

Do you think it would be possible to post without being so personally insulting to others? I doubt it, so I'll just start reporting all of your posts.

Note that none here has produced any evidence to support the claim I questioned.
