The one thing I find silly about Catholicism is that it insists that the bread and wine in communion are the body and blood of Christ. They thereby, by their own admission, engage in cannibalism.

That's why, if I ever became Christian, I wouldn't be Catholic. Not that I'd take that "literal interpretation" seriously. Even a diehard Catholic will admit that it's symbolic in nature. But I find that interpretation amusing.

And how do you define monotheism? The grandfatherly God painted on the Sistine Chapel? I would call that "anthropomorphic." (Need time to look it up?)

Make God look like us. Then there is only ONE God and my pack of chimps has a monopoly of knowing that God. What dazzling spiritual evolution!!!

No thanks. How about one God force manifesting itself to everyone/every living thing equally in its true identity (doesn't look like you)?

I see no incongruity in saying I am monotheist by recognizing the God force in every living thing.

I will define my own beliefs instead of listening to the Encyclopedia Britannica.
