See why do we always have to do what the minority's want ? I never have understood that. Why not keep at least a few things like how they were? What real trouble is "in god we trust" causing? |

to an extent i can see the issue that is being raised, but the nature of the problem is not something easily tackled. unless we completely re-do the forms of currency in the nation i see no reason to make that minor adjustment. it is really just an attempt to placate a small group of people that may get their way just because they have a good lawyer. if they make a small change, i would think that changing it from "in God we trust" to "in god we trust" would be the best way of trying to appease everyone, just from the idea that the lowercase "g" would emphasize the point that it is not as clear of a connection to Christianity, it makes the "god" part less specific and would in theory make it easier to relate to any given religion

I'm a Christian and a member of a mainstream Christian church ... and I have no problem taking the religious phrases off of our money, out of our patriotic pledge, etc.
I live in America, and I'm free to pray to myself 24/7 - and with my friends and family in my home, church, public parks, etc. I don't need to have it on the tokens of commerce. |

As an American and a Catholic, I can honestly say that this neither matters, nor do I really care in the end.

I understand the importance of religion in American lives and society and It is really causing no problems. Some minority will always have a problem with something in the country that is just accepted by everyone else |

I'm not sure what you mean by "causing no problems"- if it's instigating court cases which take up taxpayer dollars to defend, I would call that a problem.
I also don't see addressing wrongs as a problem, but rather a duty. I also understand the importance of religion in American lives and society - and in MY life - which is why I understand that involving religious slogans on conveyances of commerce is neither important nor an asset to society.
