We don't fall from grace, however, as long as we keep trying.
This is inspirational...

The church is one of the wealthiest institutions in the world at last count something like 4 billion, they got that rich by seizing the land and wealth of heretics and witches they burned at the stake, how does that fit into the 'Love thy Neighbor' theory?

And how do you think they will preserve that wealth? This Pope has said your not saved unless your a Catholic. Hummmmm seems the Church wants to go back (like some Islam crazies) to the dark ages. I'm just glad there is but one place left to hang a picture of the next and last Pope. Prophecy's from the past.

It was pretty much focused on being a good person not being a great Catholic.
Which is exactly how I choose to live my life outside of organized religion. ;)

Well, what do you think of yourself? Do you consider yourself a good Catholic? If so, you shouldn't think about going to Hell just because you make a few mistakes. Everyone makes mistakes. If you know you are a good person, who has respect for others, and accepts his mistakes, you'll go to Heaven. Don't let the Church make you think otherwise.

Not really. I have become rather agnostic lately, but I should get back to the faith.

will admit i know little of the catholic church. i think that according to the pope if you use a condom you are sinning/going to hell is a bit much, as is the fact that supposedly only the pope can talk directly to God, not the 'masses' (although not sure with my sketchy memory)

i think many many people agree with you dustin, which may be another reason that churches/catholic church/pope seem to be in a bit of a decline

Why? Agnosticism is honest enough. The important thing is to have impeccable morals & ethics. Mythology is not a necessary component of living a good life. Here is my simple life philosophy: "The only possible good in the universe is happiness. The time to be happy is now. The place to be happy is here. The way to be happy is to try and make somebody else so."
