Fair enough. I just thought most of them (and especially the first few) were right on target.

It may be that you cannot easily (and fairly) be pigeonholed. Both "liberal" and "conservative" are rather imprecise terms; and each comes in a variety of different (and often contradictory) flavors.

In some ways, I don't much care for "subtlety or nuance"--as, for instance, in the conduct of foreign affairs. (I am not a fan of State Department America--to put it mildly.) But in other ways, I can appreciate your point--which is to say, whenever important principles are not at stake, but merely matters of judgment.

Gag reflex. Hate to tell you bro...but they (the founding fathers) were way away from 'leftist ideology.'

The Founding Fathers lived in the 1790s. For one thing, they didn't really believe in much freedom, and for another, they were the leftists of the 1790s.

It is now 210 years later.

I think they would probably be what you would call radical leftists if they lived today.

They would be considered left leaning libertarians, but not leftists, as in liberals. Conservatives would likely love to have them here, neoconservatives would likely not, since many of them advocated for non-interventionism. Thoy would not go for democratics or modern liberals because they would not support so many social programs. They wouldn't fall on "right" or "left" and definately would like to go back to their own time ASAP, after seeing our current country.

Damn it! It didn't say "moral," it said "morale." Go learn the difference between the two words.

A panda walks into a cafe. He orders a sandwich, eats it, then draws a gun and fires two shots in the air.

"Why?" asks the confused waiter, as the panda makes toward the exit. The panda produces a badly punctuated wildlife manual and tosses it over his shoulder.

"I'm a panda," he says at the door. "Look it up."

The waiter turns to the relevant entry and, sure enough, finds an explanation.

"Panda. Large black-and-white bear-like mammal, native to China. Eats, shoots and leaves."

Agreed....and again Zeph...finsh your primary and I'll hook you up with 'scholars.' If I did so now, you would find it necessary to pop uppers in order to remain awake during the conversations.
