I think it's round the other way Angel - Sinn Fein is the political entity, the IRA is/was its military wing.

Nothing for the rest. Not at all suprising as I almost joined the greens, have been i Sinn Féin and I now support Labour.

Sinn Fein are a slight left of centre REPUBLICAN party who believe in the reunification of Ireland.

I really don't think she was calling them terrorist, rather pointing out that certain posters would call them terrorist, yet they may have got a score saying they had an affinity with Sinn Fein. I believe she was pointing out a potential irony.

Party headquarters, over the objections of some MEPs, has made several attempts to sever the party's links to the European right, most recently an aborted 2004 agreement to join the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe, with whom it already sits at the Council of Europe.
