For a start I feel a bit close to Karl, we're both Taureans, he was born on 5 May and golly gosh so was I! Along with Soren Kierkegaard. Different years though
I've always felt for him since I was told he wrote most of
Capital while standing up in the British Library because he had boils on his arse which caused great pain. I tell you, if the bloke was able to write
Capital while suffering from boils on his arse he goes down in my book as a bloody genius.
I've been told he was a bit of a bludger though, found it hard to keep work, his mate Engels financed him and the family. His wife, Jenny, from a reasonably well to do family, stuck with him even though Karl was sprung bonking the maid. Oh well, it wouldn't be the first time a Marxist got laid by chatting up a member of the working class 8)
But he left us with a great method of analysis. It's a shame that many more of us don't understand it. It's true his economic theory was a bit off but his analysis of capitalism was spot on.
Well, you did ask.
