Oh yes, and Chavez is a Democratic-Socialist and not a Communist, nor does he share policy with Stalin or Mao.

Because many people vote Democrat because their parents voted Democrat, or because their friends do. They vote one way without knowing their party's stance on all issues.

What does Lyndon LaRouche have to do with anything? Are you - like many before you - wrongly associating LaRouche (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv...ouche/main.htm) with the Libertarian Party (www.lp.org see also http://www.faqs.org/faqs/libertarian...mon-questions/)? To quote LaRouche, "I’ve never been a Libertarian, though some people have tried to confuse me with them. I don’t know why." —Lyndon LaRouche Oct 19th 2004 (WCIN AM interview: http://www.larouchepac.com/pages/int...cincinnati.htm) —
I'm philosophically a Libertarian, though I don't know the Libertarian Party's stances on all issues. I mentioned LaDouche because he's most often associated with the Libertarian party.

What do you have against the North Atlantic Ocean?
The movie Titanic. I loved it as a kid, but now I think the only good part of the movie is the boob scene. Any ocean that plays host to such horrible acting deserves Paris Hilton. ;)

Democrat. I voted Republican in the 1980's but now I could never see myself ever voting for a Republican again.

Well, that's their stupidity and part of what makes most Americans mere sheeple.

Wrongly associated. He is not, and has never been, a Libertarian!

May I ask which version of the movie you loved as a kid? Tell me you don't mean the one with Leonardo DiCapitated in it. The movie probably wasn't even filmed in the North Atlantic Ocean.

"Why?" asks the confused waiter, as the panda makes toward the exit. The panda produces a badly punctuated wildlife manual and tosses it over his shoulder.

"I'm a panda," he says at the door. "Look it up."

The waiter turns to the relevant entry and, sure enough, finds an explanation.

"Panda. Large black-and-white bear-like mammal, native to China. Eats, shoots and leaves."

I adhere to the tenets of libertarianism, but I don't generally support Libertarian Party candidates for federal offices.

While they're certainly much closer to me than your run of the mill Republican or Democrat, I don't support them. They're far too focused on social issues for my taste, and quite frankly, they generally don't have the experience nor the capacity to run this country. They're also the CATO-type of libertarians: pro-war; neolibertarians. I consider myself to be a paleolibertarian.

I'm a weak totalitarian (not socialist, communist, or fascist so don't even go there).

To us libertarians, it's all the same.

I identify as a lot of things: democratic socialist, technocrat, communist, Marxist, post-Marxist, anarcho-communist, classical libertarian, libertarian socialist, left-libertarian, syndicalist - it all basically amounts to the same thing - maximize efficiency, liberty, and democracy.

However, I don't belong to any political party. I'm a registered Independent.
