What about the centrists? They have to catch a lot of those with their election smear tactics and things like that.

I included the centrists, of the 36.3% that are centrist, only 5.5% are right leaning centrists, compared to 9.1% that are left leaning centrists. If this is a representation of americans, then it would be near impossible for a conservative to win, and likewise, it would be very difficult for a libertarian to lose.

I think that, on average, more libertarians are politically active than conservatives. Meaning that if you had 1000 conservatives and 1000 libertarians, more libertarians would be politically active and more of them would partisipate in an on-line political quiz, thus scewing the results from the average american. I also believe that the more radical one is, the more likely one is going to be politically active and thus more likely to take the quiz. Look, it has 14.8% of people are radicals, and 9.1% of people are radical libertarians, I don't believe that to be accurate of this country.

I believe you that the quiz was not legitimate, but it isn't too far-fetched to say that the Republicans' shameful election smear tactics would pull in many from the center and even from the left.

Accept smears are not unique to any one political side, they are used by both sides and very much so.

So the only logical conclusion is that the numbers on the test are not an accurate representation of this nation.
But you're not taking into account the success or failure of the sitting President. Jerry Ford lost to Jimmy Carter because he wasn't seen as having been a very good president. Jimmy lost to Ronald Reagan because his presidency sucked. Ronnie's success for two terms led to the election of George H.W. Bush. That Bush lost because a very mild recession hit just before the end of his term and Slick Willie Clinton played up the economy.

"Why?" asks the confused waiter, as the panda makes toward the exit. The panda produces a badly punctuated wildlife manual and tosses it over his shoulder.

"I'm a panda," he says at the door. "Look it up."

The waiter turns to the relevant entry and, sure enough, finds an explanation.

"Panda. Large black-and-white bear-like mammal, native to China. Eats, shoots and leaves."

Really? Can you name some Democratic smears used in the last 3 or 4 presidential elections?
