I find it rather amusing that the capitalist world crashed because of a lack of confidence. While at the same time the Soviet economy grew faster than any other in all of history because of hard work and central planning.

They talk about the failure of socialism but where is the success of capitalism in Africa, Asia and Latin America?

I repeat, the tight-money and high tariff policy (classical conservative economics of the old mercantilist school) applied by Hoover is what turned a relatively normal cyclical recession into a serious depression.

Mother nature turned that serious depression into the Great Depression by serving up seven years of drought on the Great Plains throughout the 1930's - most seriously affecting the midwestern states.

I have studed academic economics enough to know that if you look around, you can find some economist to support just about anything.

And how many millions of Soviet citizens were slaughtered in the process?

I'll make it easy for you. I'll limit the question to just the region of the Ukraine okay? (that ought to keep the number at least under 10 million).

Soviet economic expansion in the 1930's was greased by the blood of the people. They built steel mills and railroads, but 90% of the population didn't have indoor plumbing or electricity.

The USSR was also actively seeking to subvert or overthrow every nation in Europe at the time.

There is nothing admirable about the USSR - at any time, on any account.

You're partially right. Tax cuts only help the economy when you reduce government spending (reducing it no less than enough to make the government revenue-neutral) and become more protectionist in your foreign economic policy. That's how America thrived before Woodrow Wilson, whose political ideas are part of the neo-conservative agenda.
