There's an article on CNN.com talking about how many college presidents are asking for the drinking age to be lowered from 21 to 18, claiming it will reduce the binge behavior.
College chiefs urge new debate on drinking age - CNN.com What do you think?

There's already a thread on this (though without the poll):

A panda walks into a cafe. He orders a sandwich, eats it, then draws a gun and fires two shots in the air. "Why?" asks the confused waiter, as the panda makes toward the exit. The panda produces a badly punctuated wildlife manual and tosses it over his shoulder. "I'm a panda," he says at the door. "Look it up." The waiter turns to the relevant entry and, sure enough, finds an explanation. "Panda. Large black-and-white bear-like mammal, native to China. Eats, shoots and leaves." |

The official drinking age limit is irrelevant to what is happening in this country. We need to get beyond the point of denial, most high school students are drinking, having sex and doing drugs before they graduate. Alcohol can be dangerous when involved in driving, but you have to line it up as if it was a suspect in crime at the police station for people behind the mirror window to identify the real perp. It is lined up with methamphetamine, cocaine, designer drugs, Ecstasy, etc...

I voted 18, but I'm flexible.
What if there were a legal purchase age (18) but no drinking age? There are a lot of different things that could be done, but having the age at 21 is ridiculous.

The age of 21 is not picked because of behavior, it is because of the maturaty of the human liver (which processes the alcohol).

I picked the lowest age, but I did not read all the answers. :p
I am not sure if I would do that or no limit. I think no limit is also a good choice.

I chose 18.
However, I should make my position clear. I don't think underage drinking should be a criminal offense. I think marijuana should also be like that. Legal at age 18, but underage use would not be a criminal offense, only a misdemeanor or something minor like that.
