I received the following in my email today: There was no link in the email, so I googled her name to check for accuracy, and I found this: YouTube - Irena Sendler -VS- Al Gore

I have noting against AL Gore and I enjoyed seeing An Inconvenient Truth. But priorities seem terribly skewed when someone who risked her life to save others lost out to someone who gave a slide show.

Anyway, I thought it was interesting and wanted to share the story of a brave woman who did more to help others than Al Gore ever did.

WWII was more than 50 years ago: her accomplishments aren't entitled to a peace prize so many years later. The time to have given her the peace prize would have been in the late 1940s or, at the latest, the 1950s. Besides, given how they just seem to hand those prizes out like candy (Al Gore being an example), the peace prize has become pretty much meaningless today.

A panda walks into a cafe. He orders a sandwich, eats it, then draws a gun and fires two shots in the air.

"Why?" asks the confused waiter, as the panda makes toward the exit. The panda produces a badly punctuated wildlife manual and tosses it over his shoulder.

"I'm a panda," he says at the door. "Look it up."

The waiter turns to the relevant entry and, sure enough, finds an explanation.

"Panda. Large black-and-white bear-like mammal, native to China. Eats, shoots and leaves."

I agree with Chan about handing them out like candy. Gore made a movie.....

If Irena Sendler would have had the money and political clout that Al Gore had then maybe she would have at least tied for first place.
