Of course I don't expect everyone to learn Aikido but I just think guns
on the streets suck.
I don't like it, I understand it legal, I understand that not everyone is a maniac but enough are for me to believe that guns every where is not a good idea.

I did say 5 steps for a reason, not two.

In that video they made the gun holder have bad reflexes.
Give a little range and your screwed, unless you have some throwing stars on ya.

It depends where you get hit and with what caliber.

They do not suck by any means. They are a good defensive resource.

Even if I knew Aikido I would much prefer a handgun. I would suggest a handgun to anyone over Aikido.

The premise of the thread was would you shoot someone that
has a gun on you and you have time to draw and shoot them.

If they have time to draw and shoot I can have them down from 5 feet away.

You can keep coming up with stupid scenarios but that has nothing to do with the thread.


You talk about guns like some kid that has seen to many dirty harry movies.
Talk to me when you have seen a gun in your face or have had people shooting at you.

Aikido teaches you to master your fear and to protect yourself with as little harm to the fool messing with you as is possible.

A gun while efficient teaches you nothing and no matter how many times you say it isn't is a deadly weapon, you can come up with all the crap you want but when your lungs are filling with blood from a bullet wound then talk about it just being used to wound.

I recommend giving your money to the guy with the gun.
Becuase life even some punks life is worth more then the cash in your wallet.
