Brilliant! I'm being told by someone who believe an invisible being that is also all around us created the world in 6 days, making light before the sun incidentally.
I have never once stated what I believe in regard to origins. You're making assumptions. But why is it more reasonable to believe these origins just magically by random chance happened all by themselves than to believe that these origins were deliberately caused (using, say, Immanuel Kant's notion of an original uncaused cause)?

Quote:
Oh, also a being which is all-powerful and all-good but for some reason can't stop the myriad of suffering that goes on or is petty enough to make people suffer to test their faith.
Or chooses not to (your statement assumes that humans are somehow entitled to be protected from suffering).

Quote:
Also an all-good being which cares whether men shove their d*cks up vaginas or a-holes. Yeah, like I'm going to take you seriously.
One could argue that it's about following the manufacturer's instructions.

Quote:
But let's not make this a debate about whether or not God exists, however silly you want to be in your personal beliefs is none of my concern, but when it comes to medicine science is what matters, not mythical beings.
So, why did you bring him up? Why did you make assumptions about beliefs I've never stated? The issue here is that you want science to be given deference when it's science that came up with this idiotic notion of existence just sort of magically happening by random chance all by itself.

Quote:
No, it's not. Where did you get your conclusion from?
From Techno's insistence on defering to science.

Quote:
No, because I'm not an idiot so I'm not included in that bracket of people, recognising that there are idiotic parents does not mean I think all parents are idiots.
No, but you did suggest that parents, especially, were idiotic. Notice what you said, "there are a lot of idiotic people out there, I'm thinking especially parents."

Quote:
Maybe, but these things are studied extensively before being used and are coninuously evaluated, like you say this is anecdotal evidence based on assumptions.
But if there are these incidents occurring - let's call them isolated incidents if you'd prefer - then that warrants further study to find out why these incidents are occurring. Besides, anything involving the military should automatically be considered suspect. Do you remember your history? The way the military tried to cover up the effects of radiation on those who were involved in the nuclear tests off of Fiji or the tests in Nevada or the exposure to Agent Orange or Gulf War Syndrome?

"Why?" asks the confused waiter, as the panda makes toward the exit. The panda produces a badly punctuated wildlife manual and tosses it over his shoulder.

"I'm a panda," he says at the door. "Look it up."

The waiter turns to the relevant entry and, sure enough, finds an explanation.

"Panda. Large black-and-white bear-like mammal, native to China. Eats, shoots and leaves."

WHAT A MESS and we were short staffed that day!
One of the worst things about flu shots is that the variant of flu with which they inject you is based on guesswork anyway. They make a supposedly educated guess about what variant of flu is going to be prevalent this flu season and they vaccinate you for it - and it doesn't protect you from other strains of the flu.

I have already demonstrated that Lumara's claim is a myth. Vaccines do not suppress your immune system and make you sick. The source I utilized above is from a health agency, and they indicate that is one of the dozens of common myths floated about by quacks and anti-vaccine special interests. As you can clearly see, the sources that propagate this claim are largely those quack-ridden herbal remedy and "alternative" medicine sources. They got a special interest agenda in feeding people these anti-science, anti-modernity stuff so they can bilk you of money buying "alternative medicines."

I didn't ask you to prove Lumara's claim was wrong, I asked you to prove her linked sources wrong.

Anyone got any evidence that vaccines do what Lumara says they do? Until then. I will consider it a myth as medical sources indicate it is.

As I said, the incidents Lumara cited can be considered anecdotal evidence. Even if the vaccines cause problems in only one person, that is sufficient reason for further study.

By the way, every myth has its basis in fact.

None yet? Okay. I'll keep waiting for these medical studies which indicate it's true.

And no evidence that Lumara's specific incidents never happened or that the sources she cited were wrong.

If no one can provide evidence that it's true by tomorrow, I will take that as a concession. It's not my job to prove something is not true or never happened. The burden of proof is on you to demonstrate it is true and did happen. Personal anecdotes are not reliable evidence, especially when medical science indicates the claim "suppresses your immune system" is false.

Since I'm not saying that it's true or false, I don't have the burden of proof. Since you are making a specific claim, i.e. that it's false, you have the burden of proof. Lumara and those making the specific claim that it's true also have the burden of proof regarding their allegation.
