Thoughts on my college
Just came back from a family conversation. We were talking about colleges that people go to and it escalated to my college. For those who don't know I go to Morgan State University, which is in northeast Baltimore and it's an HBCU university.
Now for as long as I can remember people everywhere have been talking about my school, and in a mostly bad away from all groups of people. See my school has a reputation as being a "party school," because it's mostly black and "black people fight" and also being STD central, at least in Maryland. Now I heard another story about a really crazy incident that happened at College Park in Maryland where the students went so far as to throw feces and stuff around in the dorms, to the point where the janitors refused to clean for six weeks. The thing is, College Park is mostly white. Yes, people fight, catch STDs and party here but this **** happens everywhere else too and compared to UMCP we're really civilized.
One other thing. There was a problem at my school where like $3 million in funding for our new library went "missing" and it was all over the news. However, another school named University of Maryland, Baltimore County lost about $23 million and it barely made the news. The local media apparently hates our college and it's because we're staying independent of the Maryland University system, and almost anytime we're in the news it's something bad, this being one example.
