Yeah but we all know Chan is a bit of a xenophobe.

They talk about the failure of socialism but where is the success of capitalism in Africa, Asia and Latin America?

I can see the interpretation but I think it's off target. I might say, "what does the Burmese junta want, another typhoon?"* It doesn't go to causation.

*I am not a heartless bastard. I would however put the Junta up against the wall in thirty seconds.

Well, my bottom line is that we are indeed at risk for another 9/11, and the highest risk is for an attack coordinated by Osama and the Al Qaeda leadership in Pakistan. If that type of attack happens, it will be a rude awakening about how far off focus we are in Iraq.

And what happens if that attack happens and originates out of Pakistan? We are stretched very thin to be in Iraq. Then Bush and Cheney has our navy in the Persian Gulf. Do we simply bomb Iran and invade Pakistan while maintaining the Surge in Iraq?

I appreciate your attempt to downplay what I said but I wasn't referring to a large segment of the population's "roots." I was referring to present-day Europeans.

"Why?" asks the confused waiter, as the panda makes toward the exit. The panda produces a badly punctuated wildlife manual and tosses it over his shoulder.

"I'm a panda," he says at the door. "Look it up."

The waiter turns to the relevant entry and, sure enough, finds an explanation.

"Panda. Large black-and-white bear-like mammal, native to China. Eats, shoots and leaves."

The United States will continue to be at risk for as long as we continue to interfere in the internal affairs of other countries and probably for a while after we stop interfering (if we ever do). The CIA called it "blowback."

The neocons seem to have this notion that our military can fight a war on two separate fronts or fight two different wars at the same time (something like that).

The nature of warfare has certainly changed. It's no longer nation against nation but nation against multinational terrorist organizations.

Rumsfeld and Wolfowitz, Sec of Defense and Asst Sec of Defense, were PNAC neo cons. It is naive to ignore this connection and the push to invade Iraq right after invading Afghanistan. PNAC is an abbreviation for "Plan for a New American Century." The position paper was published in 1998 is basically a blueprint for the US to become the American Empire in the mold of the Roman Empire, and then establishing Pax Americana in the mold of Pax Romano.

I support the Libertarian and Ron Paul position of non intervention.

We agree. Gee whiz, how did that happen.

They weren't merely neocons, they were ringleaders in the neocon agenda. Bush is nothing more than their puppet.

We agree again. Actually Cheney is the biggest neo con in the picture, and most likely the real president with Bush serving as the front guy with name recognition that can take the heat instead of someone with a heart problem.

I know a lot of you don't believe 9/11 was an inside job, but perhaps Rumsfeld's enthusiastic suggestion of needing another 9/11 from his own mouth will at least make you think that perhaps you really have been lied to all this time?
Yep. I have heard it repeated several times. Twice this week on 2 different shows made for the History and Discovery channels about the first 9/11 which had more data and different media pixs. And on the cause and effect of invading Iraq. Each ended with FBI or CIA statements to the same... Maybe why we still have an unsecured boarders.
Now who will the Machiavellians sacrifice? Beware if you live to far from many fereral buildings. Also beware if you do!
