Or maybe you just have to be able to read and click links... I decided to go look at the full story and the links to back it up are right in the story.

As usual your libertarian nonsense it not nonsense at all.

But that would require reading the story, which might not fit into the nice little box he has made.

Of course, you LoLbies could just post the studies instead of long-winded political diatribe blogs I need to sift through to find embedded links. I rarely read your blogs. If you say "the Internets" when I ask for where you got the information, instead of saying you have a link specifically inside, I will dismiss you. Period. If it's hidden within piles of Libertarian garbage, I am not going to look for it there.

Provide it up front when asked.

And who claimed that red-light cameras are supposed to reduce crashes in the first place? They are largely to catch people who run red lights.
yep blame others for your not clicking twice. Those tricky blue underlined words that stick out like a sore thumb, assuming you actually took the time to read the full thing you would have seen them. Next time try reading the full overview so you do not have to ask questions already answered. If you don't feel like doing that hard reading of the long winded 4 paragraphs than you probably should not ask stupid questions. It was provided you just did not go and read it.

As rick said they are just a way for the government to increase revenues all the while hurting the people. That is just like the government for ya.

While on vacation, I ran a red light in Louisiana. I remember saying to the wife- " That one was PINK!"
The letter came in due course with full instructions about how to pay the fine or contest it. The photos were conclusive. I was definitely in the intersection while the light was red. I sent them the $110!!!
In my opinion the lights are no intrusion, they are simply a way to catch offenders without a large expenditure of manpower. I am now much more aware of red lights and probably a safer driver because of the fine I paid for breaking a law.

I would think that even having dummy cameras around would have some effect. Most people think and behave more where there is a show of authority.

The real problem noted was not people being prosecuted for running reds, it is that the government abusing it to make more money. Shortening the time of yellow lights so they get more people. Causing more accidents, most likely. Also there is the problem sometimes it is a split second red that no one will care about. Or sometimes people slam on the breaks. due to traffic or an accident, and leave others in the middle of the intersection until it turns red. A real person would know better a camera that you can not confront does not.

Regarding your complaint that the government is using tickets to increase revenue, a fairly obvious way to decrease that comes to mind....

Let's just call it a voluntary tax on the stupid.
