Default Kenya Catches Obama Fever

Kenya Catches Obama Fever
by RS Davis
The Freedom Files

Hello Freedomfiles! Regarding the election of America's first black president, U.S. Ambassador Michael Ranneberger said, "With the media coverage over the past few weeks, I sometimes thought this was a Kenyan election."

And he's right. Obama has been huge in Kenya, the birthplace of his father. In fact, before the election, the Associated Press reported that "minibuses here are emblazoned with Obama's picture and vendors sell T-shirts bearing his image."

Kenya even detained and deported Jerome Corsi, author of the anti-Obama tome The Obama Nation: Leftist Politics and the Cult of Personality...

...Now that their man has won the presidency, the nation of Kenya has taken it one step further, declaring today a national holiday in honor of Barack Obama....

And his presidency won't make a damned bit of difference in the lives of Kenyans.

"I'm a panda," he says at the door. "Look it up."

The waiter turns to the relevant entry and, sure enough, finds an explanation.

"Panda. Large black-and-white bear-like mammal, native to China. Eats, shoots and leaves."

I'd say it already has.

Kenyans are still poor, their government is still corrupt: nothing has changed.

Those are the only two aspects to Kenyan lives?

Pretty much, yes.

Kinda myopic. Clearly it has made a difference in their lives, simply for the joy it has brought them.

What I saw on the news was Africans playing drums and dancing. Ever try it? Heck of alot of fun. And who is the party pooper that is saying they shouldn't celebrate or somehow the celebration is wrong or stupid? Wrong and stupid are in the eye of the beholder.

Oh, please! It's just more international fawning over Messiah Obama. Kenyans are still poor, their government is still corrupt.

The rest of the world is dancing in the streets over this guy in a way that is much like Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem or the parade of veterans in New York City coming home from World War II. Americans should always be wary when the rest of the world celebrates our election results.

No one said wrong or stupid. All I said was that Messiah Obama's election hasn't made the least little bit of difference in the lives of the people celebrating: Kenyans are still poor and their government is still corrupt.
