Its both there are certainly bad teachers and there are bad students. I have had bad teachers. I know use the ratemyprofessor to try and avoid them. Some teachers royally suck at teaching. Some decide to pick the students like like and ignore the rest. Some are sexist. There are lots of things that teachers do that make them bad.

Kids know the easy A profs, anyway. All this does is make it easier to access.

Every prof does things a different way. Some are easygoing, others are not.

However, I won't suggest grade standardization, precisely because I'll get pummelled by the individualists decrying Big Goverment interference.

Personally, I think more access to info is preferable to less.
