Gas Prices Plummet for 40 Lucky People
by RS Davis The Freedom Files ![]() Hello Freedomphiles! Last week, I wrote about how and why gas prices were dropping, saying that the laws of supply and demand aren't suspended simply because a lot of people choose to buy a product. Gas prices have dropped, on average, 78 cents in only four months. Except at one gas station in Wisconsin, where it dropped $3.08 in one afternoon. The sign said gas was $3.43, but an absent-minded clerk with no respect for the almighty decimal point set the pump at $0.343. When customers noticed the mistake, they dropped everything, went inside, and let the clerk know what had happened. Right. Actually, they called all their friends, and thirty to forty people showed up within an hour and half to fill up their tanks, getting 200 to 300 gallons of absurdly cheap gas before the error was caught. "People kept coming, so fast," station owner JP Raval said. "Everything was crowded; it was like a fairground." More here. |
