Another School Strip Show
by RS Davis The Freedom Files Hello Freedomphiles! You know, when I was in school, the idea that I might be strip searched by administrators was about as likely as the idea that I'd be bitten by a radioactive marmoset and become Marmosetman. But today, it seems that its old hat. If you recall, I wrote awhile back about an eight-grade honor roll student who was stripped down to her bra and panties, because a classmate falsely accused her of having Advil. (Since the writing of that piece, the court of appeals ruled 6-5, way too close, that it was a violation of her rights.) Well, not to be outdone, a school in Detroit has strip-searched three seventh-grade girls over a missing $42. Parents called police, and a prosecution may be forthcoming. Apparently, this is a no-no in a private school, as in the Advil case, which was a public school, no charges were filed against the administrators. The principal is on administrative leave, while the teacher who organized the peep show is still in class. |

The Student / Parent 'handbook' sent home with my children indicated that they (the children) had 'no rights' regarding 'self incrimination' and such. I sent a note back with each of them indicating that 'if' their 'rights' were violated, I would do some violating myself with respect to the 'rights' of all involved. This triggered a meeting with the administration of the schools. I stood firm in my conviction and they acquiesced to obvious parental role.
When government employees attempt to deny you, or yours, their constitutionally guaranteed immunities, you must respond in kind. Attempt to deny my children their rights, and the 'right' to 'life, liberty and the persuit of happiness' of the government employee comes into jeopardy.

I agree Bone.
These searches are completely unreasonable.

Hahaha...there's nothing more entertaining than a pissed-off libertarian. Unlike most of the complaining rubes, they've usually done their homework...

I often refer to elected officials and their backers as 'corporate welfare queens incapable of competing in a free market.'
I fought the last ISD bond issue. I lost. However, the corporate whores spent 60K defeating my efforts. As long as I make these a$$bags spend their ill-gotten gains, I am satisfied. Yeah they love me.
