It really blows me away that people are pissed off that McCain is taking an active role in the process of figuring this mess out.

Yes, and I'm sure that if Obama was the one saying postpone the debate and McCain was saying no you would be standing up for Obama, right?

It doesn't make any difference what McCain says you would be right behind him towing his bull**** line. If McCain cannot think and chew gum at the same time he has no business being president.

Why can't he take an active role and still live up to his commitments? Obama can. He is not saying sorry, too busy campaigning, he intends to be there. He just also intends to live up to commitment of debating McCain on Friday.

Whats the matter, McCain just too old to handle a little pressure? Maybe he has no business being the president.

Seeings how his policies created it, it's the least he can do, besides the world's bigger than McCain, I'm sure Congress can figure it out without him, he's grandstanding period, it's a political stunt.
He knows if he goes into the debates in the middle of this mess that he helped create, he'd get wiped out, he's a coward and a liar.

Oh I didn't realize that it was a Republican administration that FORCED banks to lend money to people that had zero business owning a home. All in the name of non-discrimination.

If people are going to blame folks for this situation at least get it together enough to share the blame where blame is needed. A lot of you are spinning it so it is ALL McCains fault. And that my friends is just stupid.

Obama rejects McCain's call to delay debate

By BETH FOUHY, Associated Press Writer 9 minutes ago
NEW YORK - Republican John McCain said Wednesday that he wants to postpone Friday's debate to deal with the nation's financial problems, but Democrat Barack Obama said "it's more important than ever" that the country hear from its next president.

Your thread is just plain idiotic. If you actually knew what the hell you were talking about then you'd know damned well that tomorrow's debate is on FOREIGN POLICY and not the economy.

"Why?" asks the confused waiter, as the panda makes toward the exit. The panda produces a badly punctuated wildlife manual and tosses it over his shoulder.

"I'm a panda," he says at the door. "Look it up."

The waiter turns to the relevant entry and, sure enough, finds an explanation.

"Panda. Large black-and-white bear-like mammal, native to China. Eats, shoots and leaves."

Actually, it was legislation in the 1970s and renewed in the 1990s that required this.

There is plenty of blame to go around and a lot of it goes back 20-30 years.

Well now you do, it was called Bush's "ownership" society. He was beating his chest and bragging that he made it possible for almost "anyone" to buy a home, he claimed it was "his" policies that made it possible, right up until the collapse, then he kinda got quiet.

O.K, my pleasure.. BUSH and his republican colleges who discouraged regulation and encouraged predatory lending.
This is why McBush is running from the debates, he knows he was a big player in the current disaster, he'd look foolish discussing it. (you already knew that though)

No, Obama was basically saying "Congress, call me if you need me: I'm busy campaigning." In other words, he thinks its more important for him to be on the campaign trail than for him to actually be in the Senate doing his damned job in a time of supposed national crisis.
