First They Came After the Bearded Collies, And I Did Nothing...
by RS Davis The Freedom Files ![]() Hello Freedomphiles! A city in Isreal has taken an oddly creepy step to get people to start picking up their dog's fecal expulsions - DNA testing. The city of Petah Tikva, a suburb of Tel Aviv, is having people bring their dogs in to register their DNA for the database. Now, they are going to have the pooper-scooper patrol collect samples from the ground and the disposal units. People that are found to have scooped the poop will be rewarded with pet food coupons and dog toys, while those found to have been looking the other way and whistling a jaunty tune as their dogs foul the neighbor's lawn will be fined. Fido Liebowitz of the Quadraped Civil Defense League was outraged, saying, "We dogs need to stand together against this violation of our civil liberties. Don't they need a warrant or something? Your butt smells good." Liebowitz may be right, as Tika Bar-On, the city's chief veterenarian, said "The sky is the limit on how far we can take this." Full story here. |
