Im pretty sure the pirate groups attacking off of Somalia's coast are affiliated with the rebel group running terrorist attacks on the country in their little civil war--the "remnants" of the Islamic Courts Union ICU. The idea is to make an example by ridding the seas of foreign invaders! (and on the side making a lot of cash)
