BBC NEWS | Europe | Spain grieves for Madrid victims
The plane was heading from Madrid to my hometown. It seems 80/90 of 160passengers did live here in Gran Canaria. ¡Qué tragedia más grande! The island is under some sort of state of shock. We still don't believe it. I have seen on TV people I've never talked to, but I know them for sure, because they live or work near me and you see them often, seeking for info at the Airport. It seems one of the engines exploded. The plane was heading from Madrid to Gran Canaria, but at the same time, there was another plane from Gran Canaria to Madrid. Passengers are sat on board in Gran Canaria ready to take off, no empty seats when they are told that "due to some problems at Madrid Airport, there is a delay". Fifteen minutes later, they are ordered to leave the plane and go back to the Gran Canaria Airport Terminal. Two hours later, the plane took off to Madrid. Only one third of the plane seats were occupied. Saludos, muy tristes, pero saludos Last edited by Jabato : 08-21-2008 at 11:39 AM. |
