not that his chances for VP were great, but they no longer exist in any form.

Nice. What is it with all these politicos that seem to have such a hard time understanding fundamental right and wrong?

I really liked Edwards, too.

When will people understand that morality and the ability to govern are not one in the same? Edwards had neither, but his immoral activities in no way exclude him from being a decent leader....his political proclivities did.

I will second you on that, I was kind of looking forward to seeing him on the ticket. I wonder if he came out because he was told that he wasn't going to be picked for the ticket and so there was no longer any reason to hide it?

Ideally, I agree with you. I couldn't care less if he has 47 mistresses on the side, it has nothing to do with the quality of his actual governance.

BUT, it matters to most other people, and that's what counts.

Besides, it's not whether this stuff happens all the time or not....it's whether you're savvy enough not to get caught. Every politician is a liar and an immoral sleazebag...you'd better not SUCK at it!

John Edwards is no longer in government or an active candidate in the next election. But watch the Republicans go after this story despite the fact that their own John McCain left his handicapped wife to remarry with a multi milllionaire healthy wife.

If this is going to be slime thrown at the Democrats by the Republicans, maybe the public needs a reminder of all the instances of Republican infidelity toward wives ( Craig, Vitter, the Governor of New York resigning over a prostitution scandal, a Republican mayor going to prison for 37 years due pedophilia with young girls, etc...).

If you live in a glass house, don't throw bricks. I will humbly suggest a few billion bricks be thrown right back a bottom dweller scum sucking Rove staff and the GOP that employs them.

Wrong... He publicly backed Obama and it was covered by the news as if he was somebody. Thus making the story of his lying for 2 years to those who asked him about it.. an issue.. since he denied it while campaigning when asked.

Also he could have been the AG or a Supreme Court Judge under Obama. As it was talked about by many Democrats.

Imagine, an AG constantly lying over and over.. running the DoJ.. wait we had one of those his nickname was Gonzo.. I am sure as hell this sh!t got reported instead of finding out after he was the AG.
