So, under your ideal law, you could, for instance, have organized "illegal hunts" maybe with a guide to the neighborhood? You pay a certain amount of money and ride around in your 4x4 with your .12 gauge with somebody who can point out who is illegal and who is not, and you get to hunt them?

Even cooler if you could mount them on your wall, huh?
He told the 911 dispatcher that they were breaking into his neighbor's house and he was going to kill them.

I know that it is allowed under Texas law, so my opinion is moot, but my opinion is that it is murder.

I'm a little confused. If he shot them in their backs, how in the world did he convince the jury that he felt he was threatened?

I mean, okay, if I have a bead on you with a shotgun, and you STILL advance, as if you don't believe I will shoot....yeah, that's pretty clear that they are threatening.

But, surely after he shot the first guy in the back (indicating he was running away already?), he kills the other guy, as well???

Not only that, but he flat-out told the dispatcher he intended to kill. Not to stop. Not to scare off. Not to warn. To kill.

Something doesn't add up for me.

From the moment he left the house, we know that he intended to kill them, regardless of what happened. This is because he informed the 911 dispatcher.

More backseat shooting from the ignorant. Even IF it made sense to aim for the legs in a gunfight (it doesn't, they're harder to hit when sober, let alone when adrenaline is pumping), a 12 ga. shotgun loaded with 00 is going to do so much damage that the guy shot in the leg (as you suggest) is going to bleed out within about a minute. He still dies, and you risked missing your target and hitting an innocent person for NOTHING.

To use a shotgun effectively:

1. Shoulder weapon into the crease of your shoulder while pressing your cheeck against the stock.

2. Align bead-sight with that which you intent to kill.

3. Aim for center-mass and pull the trigger.

Easy peasy, gets the job done.
