UN owes us $6M in rent, grumbles city BY KATHLEEN LUCADAMO DAILY NEWS CITY HALL BUREAU UN owes us $6M in rent, grumbles city The United Nations owes the city $6 million in back rent in the latest war between the world's peacekeeping arm and the Big Apple. The United Nations Development Corp. failed to pay $12million in rent from 2003 to 2006 on one of the three leases it has with the city, according to an audit released Thursday by city Controller William Thompson's office. UN officials coughed up $6million of the sum to the city's Economic Development Corp. when alerted of the pending audit last month, Thompson said. Another $6 million remains, according to the audit.
