Okay, this is not exactly stop-the-presses-quality news--anyone who never does stumble across it certainly is not doomed to a life of abysmal ignorance--but it is surely good for a few chuckles.
A couple of paragraphs from a report in Comcast.net follow: "A computer spell-checker run amok christened several Pennsylvania high school students with new--and in some cases unflattering--last names. "Middletown Area High School's yearbook listed Max Zupanovic as 'Max Supernova,' Kathy Carbaugh as 'Kathy Airbag' and Alessandra Ippolito as 'Alexandra Impolite,' just to name a few." Granted, these chuckles come at the expense of some innocents. But it is still very hard not to grin, at the very least. |
