West Memphis Three Supporters
Stage Events Worldwide
WM3 Awareness Fundraisers Will Attract Defenders from Around the Globe

May 22, 2008: San Francisco, CA — Supporters all over the world are working on West Memphis Three events, with events already being planned in more than 35 cities and 30 states, from Adelaide, Australia, Anchorage to Milwaukee, from Portland to Bay City, MI. The three Arkansas men, dubbed the West Memphis Three, were convicted of the 1993 murders of three elementary school children. Since Joe Berlinger and Bruce Sinofsky chronicled their trials in the HBO documentary, Paradise Lost: The Child Murders at Robin Hood Hills, a groundswell of support has formed around Echols, Misskelley, and Baldwin—support that includes a wide array of artists such as Metallica, Henry Rollins, Eddie Vedder, Winona Ryder, Johnny Depp and Natalie Maines.

Damien Echols, Jessie Misskelley, and Jason Baldwin—all teenagers at the time—were convicted in 1994 for the brutal murders of three eight-year-old boys (Stevie Branch, Michael Moore, and Christopher Byers) in West Memphis, Ark. despite flimsy circumstantial evidence—the bulk of which centered around the trio’s alleged involvement in a Satanic cult—and a questionable and factually-inaccurate confession extracted from mentally-challenged Misskelley—the three have been serving stiff prison sentences for over a decade. Misskelley was sentenced to life plus 40 years, Baldwin is serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole, and Echols—who was deemed the ringleader of the attacks thanks to his love of black clothing and Metallica—is currently on death row as he waits for the outcome of his appeals.

June 3, 2008 marks the 15th anniversary that Echols, Baldwin and Misskelley were arrested for murders they did not commit. In July 2007 DNA evidence proved these three young men should never have been convicted. New DNA evidence will be revealed at the upcoming hearings scheduled for September 8, 2008 – October 3, 2008.

Events to raise money for the West Memphis Three’s defense fund are scheduled to take place in cities all over the world. The events will take place from May 30, 2008 until October 31, 2008. For more information on these events, and the West Memphis Three’s case, log on to http://www.wm3.org.

If you haven't seen the documentaries, rent Paradise Lost and Paradise Lost II Revelations for the whole story. These kids are innocent. It's outrageous that they are still in jail. All because they wore black t-shirts and listened to Metallica. They were railroaded and discriminated against and sent to jail for murders they did not commit.

Actually, it wasn't because they wore black t-shirts, it was because they killed 3 people, and one of the admitted to it. After he admitted to it, he later retracted it, but you really can't say, "We killed them...nevermind, forget I said that." The reason I don't like documentaries like this one, is because they present lies as facts to sway opinions. Misskelley is not mentally challenged, he has never been diaognosed as such, before or after prison. Saying that he was to make his admission of the murders, seem like a mistake is plain lying.

I watched, I didn't buy into it. I've seen it before, several times, including the second one that they made.

Metallica has had that effect on those of weak mind. Controversy has always followed them as the cause of murders and suicides.
Metallica Inspired Murder
A New Jersey man who killed his mother and then stabbed an 11-year-old boy to death claimed that he was influenced by a METALLICA song about a boy who "lost my way this bloody day" when he committed the crime, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Ronald Pituch, 29, pleaded guilty two months ago to striking his mother, Josephine, in the head with a 20-pound barbell inside the Huntington Circle home they shared on Oct. 17, 2002, according to The Courier-Post.

He then left their home on his motorcycle and wandered into Kings Grant in neighboring Evesham, where he spotted 11-year-old Gregory Katsnelson riding his bike.

Pituch admitted grabbing the boy, stabbing him and putting his body in a pond. Pituch then drove to the Medford police department and turned himself in.

Pituch (Photo: Ronald - left, boy's mother - right) told the court during his sentencing Tuesday (Jan. 4) that he thought the METALLICA song "Ronnie" had been directed at him. The song tells of a boy who "never laughed, never smiled, talked alone for miles and miles and miles."

In the song, nothing happens in a quiet town until Ronnie pulls a gun, and the children "all fall down, down, down." Remember the fake lawsuit they claimed to have filed in 2003. A cheap publicity stunt to take the attention away from the fact they were whining about people stealing there music. I'm sure Metallica loves the publicity though.
