You're acting as if they choose to stop providing food just because they wanted to, yet your own article says it was because they ran out of fuel. "UNRWA stopped distributing food aid in Gaza two weeks ago for several days after its vehicles ran out of fuel."

Jesus christ, i fricking read it ! But dont tell me they couldn't get fuel if they really wanted it. I'm sure Israeli cars and public transport are still running. So don't be so naive to fall for the line that there is no fuel. There is plenty of fuel out there. It's just not being used on a basis of need, but a basis of elitist privellage.

It says at the end "He said both the Palestinians and Israelis had promised that UNRWA would receive the fuel it needs to maintain its deliveries, but none had arrived." That means that the Palestinians had promised fuel as well, and they also broke their promise.

UNRWA is only down there to help the people that need food. They don't have a form of income down there so that if people aren't giving them the needed fuel they can just go to a gas station like you or I could. Their hands are really tied and their powers are limited to donations (of money and fuel).

If you want to blame someone, blame Palestine and Israel for not delivering on their promises.

Palestinians are hardly in a position to do much. They are the people who need the aid. I blame the entire UN, the oil companies, food producers and governments all over the world for not sorting the mess out. We know to expect nothing from the Israeli's, but the rich countries of the world should be fufilling their basic international humanitarian duty. It's a sad indictement of our world that the basic resources for life are distributed on a basis of profit rather than need.

Or that typical bureaucracy is preventing the fuel from getting delivered in a timely manner.

What are you talking about in that last line? Food or Oil? You can't be talking about food, because UNRWA has been distributing food on the basis of need and many other organizations have been doing it baised on need, not profit. And you can't be refering to oil, because it is not a basic resource for life.

And what do you mean the Palestinians aren't in a position to do anything? They can give the fuel like they promised they would, they are not some completely incompetant, powerless group of people that can't do anything. They have oil, and a good deal amount of it, they can keep true to their promises.

They are one tiny orgaisation, a speck on the worldwide food sector. They are not the sector itself. All food should be distributed on a basis of need rather than profit. We need a central global body that oversees it. People are getting fat in the west and throwing out masses of food. In other parts of the world there is grave shortages. An end to this global capitalist sytem is needed.


The Gazans are Palestinians, how are they meant to give aid to themselves ? If you mean the West Bank, than i dont know what their situation is, but they can hardly be rich and bathing in a surpluss of resources themselves.

So this entire thing was just an excuse to attack capitalism?


The Gazans aren't the only Palestinians, they are just some of them, the rest could be helping. You don't have to be "rich and bathing in a surpluss of resources" in order to help people. I know that I'm not, but I volunteer to help to poor in my community each and every week.

No doubt that will have some effect. But they are saying that Isreal and Palestine just haven't given the oil that was promised. But once they are given the fuel, it is likely that the Bureau will making it take that much longer.
