I'm not sure there's even any point in discussing this with you further; something about "none so blind..."
There are plenty of racists. Some are Republican, some are Democrats, and others either are not registered with a party or are registered with one of the numerous other national parties in the United States.

"Why?" asks the confused waiter, as the panda makes toward the exit. The panda produces a badly punctuated wildlife manual and tosses it over his shoulder.

"I'm a panda," he says at the door. "Look it up."

The waiter turns to the relevant entry and, sure enough, finds an explanation.

"Panda. Large black-and-white bear-like mammal, native to China. Eats, shoots and leaves."

Are you kidding? The KKK started with supporting the democratic party (back at the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th). But anyway, who the kkk supports does not make that party equal to them. Otherwise we could just say that the democratic party is all equal to Rev Wright, or Spitzer, or any number of individuals that are members of that party.

The fact is (whether you like it or not), the Republican party had a stronger support for the Civil Rights act than the Democratic party. So was the 18th amendment (women's rights) with (rep 36-8, dem 20-17). We can point out bad seeds and individuals all day, but individuals do not equal the entire party.

Get back with me, when you know what you're talking about.
I don't give a good gahoot, what happened in the early 20th century....we're talking about "right now".

That's precisely the kind of weasely, mealy-mouthed response I'd expect from a rightwinger who can't abide the truth about his chosen party.

We have here a splendid example of what I'm talking about; cheap-labor conservative candidate Gary Davis wants his town to provide a new home for a statue of Nathan Bedford Forrest...the man who founded the KKK.

THAT'S what the GOP all about. The fact that David Duke ran as a Republican for a seat on the Louisiana state legislature should tell everyone all they need to know about the right. And let's not pretend that Pat Buchanan--who, I might remind you, ran for president in 2000--is anything other than a bigot.

Yeah, Chan, ever since the Democrats cut themselves off from the Dixiecrat arm of the party in the 1960's, you Republicans have welcomed their racist hatred with open arms.

Can you say Southern Strategy?

Damn it, if you're going to disagree with me you had better get it right. For about the 100th time in this forum:

I AM NOT A REPUBLICAN OR A RIGHT-WINGER!!!!!

Yes, mods, I know, this is an infractionable offense.

Aaronsongs:

Touche'? That can be considered baiting. Please stop.

Peace treaty guys?

Or I will be back with infractions.

I have never dealt with Chan before on an infraction and I do not want to start.

You may not be a republican but you are a right-winger, you believe in limited government control especially in the economy. If it sounds like a duck, looks like a duck and smells like a duck I am forced to draw only one conclusion.

Using labels like left wing or right wing usually lower the quality of discussions.

Usually the labels come out to tag someone with a negative stereotype. If someone is tagged with "right wing" that means the left wing participants rally against this person based on that stereotype.

And what does Chan allegedly being Republican or right wing have to do with "Canceling Wright's Honorary Degree Unfair?"
