Anyway, Pizza Hut will no doubt be instructing its employees that it's not acceptable for them to be armed. Said employees can then either lump it or leave. Personally if I were delivering pizzas in some parts of the States, I'd carry two handguns and a lot of spare ammo.
Yes, I think you're right but I just can never see it. I live in a relatively rough area of Britain but with a few small precautions I have had no need to use a gun, I've never had a knife pulled on me personally and I've avoided any fights since I was 13. But there may be a different culture in America, and if so I do feel sorry for Americans, but personally I'd rather my pizza delivery guys were not armed, though I do recognise the American situation as shown in the last sentence of my previous post..

Just because you never had does not mean you won't. The place I worked at was never robbed during open hours, that does not mean it won't. You would never know if your pizza guy was armed unless to tried to rob him.

Or the other way round.

The lesson here: don't rob the guy that gives you food.

Yes, well we already know we disagree about gun control, and on the specific issue I do actually agree with your view.

I've got an old mate living in Bingham, I hope that's not a rough area.

But on the US. Sadly it's increasingly necessary to be armed for self defence. I've been to the US quite a few times for lengthy periods and travelled to many parts of it but visiting (even for a few months) and living there are two different things. I've never felt personally threatened in the US (but strangely I have in London and Paris) but having been to places like Detroit I can see what Americans mean when they saw that they support carry concealed weapon legislation.

I worked delivering pizzas for a while--I didn't carry, but a couple drivers did, and the owner had a loaded (one 00 buckshot, one slug) double-barrel shotgun under the counter.

You may be right, I can't say against that.

Bingham? Rough? God no, it's a small town in Rushcliffe, I've only been there passing through but no, that's not a rough area.
