What is your point, you said that by putting Richardson on the ticket, he'll eliminate any question of experience, but Bush showed that that doesn't mean anything.

1. There will always be people who will vote for experience. 2. The argument could/should be made that experience is not always good. 3. To get the votes of those who still demand experience, you put someone with lots of experience on the ticket. Bush didn't have extensive experience. He brought in Cheney. They won. |

Richardson doesn't have any more experience at the federal level than Obama does.
Richardon was a diplomat before becoming gov. Some experience. He would make a fine running mate though. And yes, plenty of people in Latin America know exactly who he is.

Richardson was US Representative from New Mexico, US Ambassador to the UN, Secretary of Energy, and Governor. That is significantly more experience than Obama and McCain on issues of foreign policy, energy policy, and executive experience.

I haven't seen much mention of the fact that Richardson wanted to be president TOO. He DID run, after all. He just didn't have a national reputation, or at least not one which garnered him much publicity.
I'm guessing secretary of state here. That will give him the public exposure that will make everyone in the country know his name. And when the NEXT election cycle comes around... It's pretty obvious that he waited until it looked like Obama would take the nomination, which shows me this is all in his own self-interest. If Clinton was ahead right now I have a feeling his endorsement would be a little different.
