Default War on Terror takes on War on Terror

War on Terror takes on War on Terror

The Freedom Files

Hello Freedomphiles! Ever hear of War on Terror: The Board Game? It's a tongue-in-cheek Risk-style game set in the WoT. The game's creators, Andrew Sheerin and Andy Tompkins, describe it like this:

It's got suicide bombers, political kidnaps and intercontinental war. It's got filthy propaganda, rampant paranoia and secret treaties and the Axis of Evil is a spinner in the middle of the board.

You can fight terrorism, you can fund terrorism, you can even be the terrorists. The only thing that matters is global domination - err, liberation...

So, clearly, this game is not to be taken eriously. So, why did police take it so seriously? Cambridge Online reports:

A War On Terror board game designed in Cambridge has been seized by police who claim the balaclava in the set could be used in a criminal act.

The satirical board game was confiscated along with knives, chisels and bolt cutters, from climate protesters during a series of raids near Kingsnorth power station, in Kent, last week...

...Andrew, 32, said: "I saw pictures of the board game in papers and was absolutely baffled.

"Surely no member of the public is going to believe that a board game could be used as a weapon?"

In related news, a man was arrested for grand theft auto when police found a copy of the Rockstar Games title in his glove box.

I would love to know how they are going to justify this.

Looks like we are reaping the results of this Administration's policy of keeping us on exhausted high alert for eight years.

We're bound to get a bit punchy and raw-nerved, when everything comes with exclamation marks.

...so can a ski mask or pantyhose. What a lame excuse to seize a game.

We need another amendment to protect head gear.

Or they will start pulling ski masks off of the shelves.

I'm worried about them taking our butter knives away for our own protection.
