In the Rom culture, women are always unclean from the waist down, so if a woman's skirts touch an item it is unclean. Which means, if you get PO'd at a guy you just hit him with your skirt and he's unclean (has to travrel behind the Kumpania) until the next Kris.

My mind is saturated with trivia. BTW - the Red Tent is a terrific novel.
