Default US Tortures Children ?

I'd like to say i am shocked, but i'm not in the slightest. If this is how the US treats citizens of its friends just imagine how they treat those from enemy states.

Even if and i must stress if, they did not torture him it is outrageous enough that they hold children in that hell hole. They are no better than te terrorists they claim to be fighting. In fact they are terrorists themselves.

What a recruiting sergeant for Al Qaeda this terror camp must act as.

A videotape of a detainee being questioned at the US prison camp in Guantanamo Bay has been released for the first time.

It shows 16-year-old Omar Khadr being asked by Canadian officials in 2003 about events leading up to his capture by US forces, Canadian media have said.

The Canadian citizen is accused of throwing a grenade that killed a US soldier in Afghanistan in 2002.

He is seen in a distressed state and complaining about the medical care.

The footage was made public by Mr Khadr's lawyers following a Supreme Court ruling in May that the Canadian authorities had to hand over key evidence against him to allow a full defence of the charges he is facing.

One of those lawyers, Dennis Edney, told the BBC his client was seen in a distressed state because he had been "abused" by his American guards.

"He was deprived of sleep by being removed from his cell and to another cell every three hours on a 24-hour basis for three weeks solid, followed by three weeks of deep solitary confinement," Mr Edney told the BBC.

Mr Khadr, the only Westerner still held at the jail, was 15 when he was captured by US forces during a gun battle at a suspected al-Qaeda camp in Afghanistan.

During the 10-minute video of his questioning in Guantanamo a year later, he can be seen crying, his face buried in his hands, and pulling at his hair. He can be heard repeatedly chanting: "Help me."

The Canadian government is demanding his release. Omar Khadr's case is yet another strong case in point about closing down Guantanamo. A Canadian citizen in th past was released from GITMO and he sued the Canadian Government. He won and the government offered him an official apology. (How can you really apologize for someone losing a couple of years of their life and being tortured). So I am sure the Canadian government is more than angry at the US kidnapping and detaining its citizen to play international cowboy.

The rationale for Guantanamo was to hold the most dangerous terrorists. The number of released prisoners is now in the 60 to 80 range. I'm sure most of them most likely have been recruited by terrorists. And most likely all of their extended families, clans and tribes have been alienated with America.

So what was a Canadian citizen doing in Afghanistan lobbing grenades at American soldiers? Whatever happened to the reputation Canadians have for being nice people? AND WHERE THE HELL WERE THIS BOY'S PARENTS?????

"Why?" asks the confused waiter, as the panda makes toward the exit. The panda produces a badly punctuated wildlife manual and tosses it over his shoulder.

"I'm a panda," he says at the door. "Look it up."

The waiter turns to the relevant entry and, sure enough, finds an explanation.

"Panda. Large black-and-white bear-like mammal, native to China. Eats, shoots and leaves."

His father was a member of Al-Queda, I bet it doesnt say that in the article. Im sure the rest of his family was a bunch of nutjobs too. Like father, like son.

He's also not really a kid. He was 16 when he was captured, which is pretty close to adult, and now hes 21. Considering his actions, its hard to call him a kid.

Really, sleep deprivation is now qualified as torture? I'd disagree, otherwise, I'm calling in all my drunk friends when they call me every 3 hours because they're drunk.

So there is no evidence of any torture presented in this article or in this video.

Yeah, when you deside to throwing hand grenades at people, you lose to ability to claim, "I was just a kid who didn't know what he was doing."

Legally, at least in America, he was still just a kid. I realize that some people here come from perverted countries that send 15 year-olds to war and allow 12 year-olds to have sex but the fact of the matter is that he was a mere child. Again, where the hell were this boy's parents?????

Teenagers are traditionally full of drama and histrionics. A video of a crying teenager and a man trying to comfort him. So what? The boy tried to murder people. What is your suggestion for a better way to treat him?

Oh sorry, I forgot that wild conjecture meant that torture and breaking human rights was ok.

Even if you want to argue that torture's ok your government denies that it thinks so, either way you look at it it's a horrendous thing.

The boy allegedly tried to murder people, whatever happened to freedom of speech? Again we have no proof of torture, and I accept that, but the never-ending list of allegations make it seem likely, and torture is wrong by the uS governmnet's own admission even if this boy did attack US soldiers in Afghanistan.
