I didn't say Iran was non imperialist. I said they showed an non imperialist interest. Quite a difference, although i do not consider Iran to be particularly imperialist. But that's an argument for another thread.

And why is it just now sticking its nose in this when this stuff in Somalia has been going as long as some of this forum's members have been alive?

You really believe that Iran is doing this out of the goodness of their heart? They would absolutely love to take over the middle east as a whole.

First of all--what "imperialist interests"? Somalia? What would imperialists want with Somalia--bananas? Honestly. Somalia is purely a peacekeeping mission and has done nothing to promote violence--US and UK intervention along with the help of other allies has probably saved hundreds and hundreds of thousands of lives. Haven't you ever watched Black Hawk Down or read the book?

If Iran wants to mediate, fine. Even though I have no doubt they'll take the side of the ICU/insurgents. Its their chance to give themselves a better name, hope they dont blow it.
