Well, you know something, your leftist notion of not using corporal punishment simply does not work and we see the results. There's a difference between child abuse and a much-needed swat across the backside with a belt. But let's move this up into the adult world for a moment.

Prisions (at least in America) invariably teach prisoners how to be more effective criminals and, when many of these prisoners are released at the end of their sentences (or earlier for "good behavior"), they go back to committing crimes and are better at doing it. So, what has giving these prisoners cable television, access to computers, free education, etc. done for them? Nothing.

Look, on the other hand, at Singapore where caning is practiced. Those subjected to caning don't sit in some cell learning how to be more effective criminals. They're not, for the most part, off again committing more crimes. Maybe that's what we should be doing instead of letting a bunch of little buggers run the streets vandalizing memorials and terrorizing the neighborhood.
