For Cuba. I've never really thought about Cuba much except how Fidel was a bad dictator, and how it is ridiculous that we people of the US can't go there. And that they have a trade embargo. *rolls eyes* But the steps they have taken, since Fidel is no more, to bring civil rights to everyone, and the effort they have put forth to become a good country. It has really made me happy. I hope to be able to travel there someday!

Yeah Fidel is such a bad guy that he has driven a third world country to better infant moartallity rates than the worlds biggest superpower, better literacy rates than most of the first world. First world life expectancy rates. A Cuban can expect to live 10 years longer than someone in my home city, a city in the fourth or fifth largest economy in the world. Fidel is so bad that he sent the Cuba army to fight Apartheid South Africa when our countries were in bed with them making all the profits under the sun. He is so bad that Cuba at one point was giving more medical aid to the third world than the entire World Health Organisation.

Viva Fidel.

They have some very nice tourist facilties there and very reasonably priced. But what makes Cuba is its people, they're genuinely friendly to visitors and although it's not a wealthy country you don't see poverty-stricken people living in slums.

There's nothing that says you CANT go the Cuba. You're just not supposed to spend money in Cuba. If you do, then the IRS and Justice might pay you a visit and make you pay a few fines. But Americans travel there all the time, expecially students and doctors. it's not that hard.

And like Diuretic said, they have some great tourist facilities. They mostly cater to wealthy Canadians and Europeans. Viva la revolucion!

From my understanding, there are a lot of ways to get to Cuba for Americans... they like dollars and have their own "don't ask don't tell" type of policy.
