I find the phrasing of the article unfortunate, reeking of "orientalism" as it repeatedly refers to Cuba's cooperation with "Africa." That is, referring to Africa as a monolithic entity, not acknowledging until the second-to-last paragraph that there are actually various countries in Africa.


Aside from that, well done Cuba, as usual, with foreign aid.

I know what you mean. However, i don't think it is any different to when people talk about any continent. Also Fidel himself has often talked about delivering aid to countries regardless of ideology and saying Africa instead of a country by country basis only underlines Cuba's commitment to helping the entire region, regardless of national politics.

The simple fact is is that there is not much coverage at all of Cuba.

Yes, most of it is usually negative, but honestly, most international news is negative, whether it be of Russia, France, Zimbabwe, Australia, Cuba, Canada, whatever.
