Default Israeli official says Iran attack "unavoidable"

Well I have predicted this. I don't think they bluff. More links at the bottom. And if I am correct that American will open the door it will come before Obama takes over jan. 20th.

Israeli official says Iran attack "unavoidable"
By Dan Williams ReutersPublished: June 6, 2008: Israeli official says Iran attack "unavoidable" - International Herald Tribune

JERUSALEM: An Israeli attack on Iranian nuclear sites looks "unavoidable" given the apparent failure of sanctions to deny Tehran technology with bomb-making potential, one of Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's deputies said on Friday.

"If Iran continues with its programme for developing nuclear weapons, we will attack it. The sanctions are ineffective," Transport Minister Shaul Mofaz told the mass-circulation Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper.

"Attacking Iran, in order to stop its nuclear plans, will be unavoidable," said the former army chief who has also been defence minister.

It was the most explicit threat yet against Iran from a member of Olmert's government, which, like the Bush administration, has preferred to hint at force as a last resort should U.N. Security Council sanctions be deemed a dead end.

The U.S. SHOULDN'T have anything to do with it but GW wants to. After all, the American Treasury hasn't been completely gutted yet and there's still more money to be made in the defense industry. I'll be (pleasantly) surprised if we don't invade Iran before the next election.

Israel makes this announcement and stock brokers go nuts and the result is the price for a barrel of oil has risen once again to record breaking levels.

What the stock brokers are thinking is an attack on Iran will probably mean Iran blocking the Persian Gulf, shutting down its production of oil and possibly Iraq production through terrorist attacks.

Maybe in our politics but I do belive Israel has more at stake than we do in this. Not that I am for anymore upsetting any of the middle east countries. But the History of the region being what it is and Israel situation in the area, well the Jewish Nation has twice struck countries that have desired to develope WMD. Maybe we should have looked to Israel before liberating Iraq, but how offen (in our country) does one use history to make an assessment of the situation.
I guess time will be the teller. I still think before the next president enters the WH...

I have an 18 gear mountain bike. I need to rid eit more. lol But got gas yesterday at $3.79..

My understanding is that there is drilling going on in Israel for oil. Now how would Iran who seems to be taking the lead from S.A. and becoming the force of the Arab/Muslim countries going to take that? Any opinions.
And I never doubt a Jews word. You might/others be wise to heed it to.

Cheney has been promoting airstrikes for well over a year. In the last "Emergency Funding Bill" to help our troops in the mideast, the Bush administration snuck in funding to retrofitting B 52 bombers or carrying the new bunker busting bombs. They are huge and are specifically designed for bombing underground nuke facilities in Iran.

israel has a lot more at stake - and is much closer. i just cant see either country taking such a huge risk by starting military action in iran. besides, i am not sure the US actually has enough troops at this point to even begin to think of doing anything in iran
