Now i don't think anyone is claiming Venezuela would wan a war with the US, but what such purchases do is make the empire think twice about atriking, as they know they will suffer big losses too. And we all know the American people don't have the stomach for thousands of more body bags returning home. It is a strategic political move being made by Venezuela not a militaristic one. A very wise political move that seems to have been overlooked here.

What shady country ? Venezuela is no shady country, it is a social democracy that has invaded no countries, it doesn't fly people around the world to be tortured, it overthrows no other leaders, it helps the poor at home and abroad (including in your own country). If that is what makes a shady country then the world by all accounts needs more shady countries.

Venezuela is no Saudi Arabia, it is no Israel, it is no Colombia.

But this is the point Drake. Who defines shady? Your own government. They base there shady judgement on whos willing to play ball with them or not. The shady countries are a political threat to the hegemony the United States currently enjoys.
